Christopher Grubb

His design diversity, experience, expertise, and recognition have made him a leader and recognizable force in the design industry and an invaluable part of the House Tipster team.

As the President and Founder of the Beverly Hills-based firm, Arch-Interiors Design Group, Christopher creates unique and customized  interior and exterior designs based on his client’s desires and his own personal touch.

When he’s not designing residences and commercial properties, he’s busy working on his two signature product lines: The C.G. Collection and Autograph by Christopher Grubb, serving on the Editorial Advisory Board for Kitchen & Bath Business, participating in a variety of radio and television segments,  and presenting internationally at consumer and at industry-wide events. He was recently recognized as one of the 50 innovators in Kitchen + Bath Design, and named the Best Interior Design Firm by Build.com in England.

We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention that our House Tipster team has forged a special partnership with Christopher Grubb over the years. As you’ve seen in our trade show coverage, Christopher brings a refreshing combination of industry knowledge and charm to the table during interviews with some of the biggest names in design. He’s incredibly passionate about sharing unique product and design movements, as well as introducing top designers and influencers with you.

We spent some time chatting with Christopher Grubb about his work and influence in the industry, and he left us with some inspiring takeaways.

The Bridge to Design

Grubb always knew that he’d become a designer. “As a young kid, I’d draw buildings, play with blocks and Legos: anything that gave me the space to create,” he explained.

With an education that included studying in Milan, living in Tokyo and working with firms that did a plethora of design mediums, Grubb founded Arch-Interiors Design Group five years after graduating from the University of San Francisco and The Academy of Art College.

Arch-Interiors Design Group was successful from day one.  According to Grubb, “We work on interiors and exterior designs for homes and commercial spaces. Our clients come to us from across the country and internationally, and the majority of them come to us from referrals, which I’m very proud of! “

A Client-Centric Approach

Aside from his keen eye, what immediately set Grubb’s work apart from others in the interior design industry, is his ability to listen and respond to his client’s specific needs.

Instead of providing a one-size-fits-all design approach, Grubb gets to know his clients and makes something for them that’s truly theirs, whether that be traditional, transitional, or contemporary.

“Over the last few years, I’ve noticed that residential projects have been leaning more contemporary and a movement is “resi-mmercial”, which I’ve done since the inception of my firm. I follow my client’s lead with each project.  I don’t have a signature look because I design around what my client wants and it keeps me creative,” said Grubb.

Creator at Heart

So, we wondered, was there a particular project or moment that stands out for him?

“It sounds cliche, but every project is special in its own way. I love working with clients and creating designs specific to what they’re looking for. Each project is different. Each client is different. And the best part of my job is seeing the satisfaction on my client’s face when everything’s said and done. My prize, no matter the size of the project, is that they love what we created together.”

Knowing he’s been in the business 25 years and has an incredible recognition and reputation, we were also curious to find out about his product endeavors

“It’s been a really exciting diversification of my career.  I love the intimacy of creating a product and the detailing that makes it so special.  Also, to have consumers purchase one of my designs is the ultimate form of flattery as a designer.”

We asked him if he could share some of his products that will be debuting in the new year.

“With my excitement I wish I could say, but the manufacturers are asking me to wait!   I can share I will have a lighting line launch at April High Point Market, a very special contemporary dimensional tile manufactured in Mexico,  a new vanity line, faucetry all premiering in the new year, and I’m in dialogue for a hardware collection and a rug line.

What’s Next for Christopher Grubb?

Moving forward, Grubb has no plans on slowing down. In addition to unveiling new products for both of his product lines, The C.G. Collection and Autograph by Christopher Grubb, he will continue to serve as the lead designer for Arch-Interiors Design Group.

“I’m continuously working on a variety of projects with the end-goal of creating the spaces my clients love–which reinforces the reason I went into this profession in the first place.,” he told us.  He continued, “I’m also thrilled to be working with the House Tipster team on new interviews and insights into the design world with their unique media presence”. We look forward as well!
