Libby Langdon

Since bursting onto the scene as an interior designer, Langdon has earned a reputation as a go-to source for design inspiration. Today, A-list clientele seek out her design work, while eager television audiences and other design enthusiasts eagerly absorb her style advice.

Here’s more on one of the design industry’s most respected voices, Libby Langdon.

Libby’s Design Approach

Langdon’s look is easy and functional, fresh and relatable, or what she describes as “easy, elegant, everyday style.”

She mixes clean neutral palettes with splashes of color, patterns, and texture to create spaces that are as pure as they are exciting. Between 2017 and 2018, Libby Interiors, Inc., designed 38 projects, ranging from the modern Barrington Residence to the transitional Sagaponack Retreat, as well as numerous commercial spaces.

While each end-product is different from the next and reflects a client’s unique lifestyle, Langdon infuses her signature style into each project.  Many leading magazines have featured her designs, including Architectural Digest, House Beautiful, Traditional Home, Hamptons Cottages & Gardens, Better Homes and Gardens, and Woman’s Day.

A Small-Space Expert

Although she’s comfortable designing anything from a midtown studio to a trendy Manhattan restaurant, Langdon’s passion lies in small-space living. In fact, she believes that living in smaller spaces makes sense for many homeowners, and encourages them to remember: “living with less is the ultimate luxury.”

In her book Small Space Solutions, Langdon breaks down everything related to small-space living, from lighting to decorations. She offers concrete steps to take for each room of a small home, including utilizing large rugs, hanging drapes from up near the ceiling, adding lighting to all four corners of a room, and using color as much as possible.

Television Personality

When Langdon isn’t serving as the creative force behind her interior design company, Libby Interiors, Inc., and writing books and other design resources, she’s also starring in HGTV’s Small Space, Big Style, and presenting as a design expert on popular shows such as NBC’s Today Show, The View, and The Rachael Ray Show.

She’s known for her relatable solutions; tips that any homeowner can incorporate, even those on a tight budget.

Product Design: An Exciting Frontier

Traveling around the world and working with clients who need real-life design solutions influenced Langdon to dive into another aspect of the industry: product design.

As of 2018, Langdon has numerous product licenses, and is continuing to expand her offerings.

Bringing the inside outdoors (and vice versa) and ensuring it’s comfortable is another passion of Langdon’s, and a catalyst for the partnership she has with NorthCape. Her indoor/outdoor furniture collection offers deep seating and versatile arrangements.
