To arrive at the upcoming year’s trending color choice pick, Kelly-Moore put together a survey of 2019’s most influential colors and home décor trends. Then, around 15,000 ASID-certified interior designers and members of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) voted for their selections from that extensively-researched study. What stood out was a calm yet powerful blue.

Mary Lawlor, the manager of color marketing, said this classic blue with teal and green undertones is a great selection for kicking up neutral space while maintaining their relaxing elements.

“From a psychological perspective, Peacock Blue is a color that can optimize concentration, encourage deep meditation and even improve sleep,” Lawlor said in a press statement. “The design community’s overwhelming choice of Peacock Blue as COTY 2019 is no surprise, as it’s always a safe bet as a strong neutral that can enhance any room with these powerful qualities.”

Kelly-Moore announced that Peacock Blue became a hands-down winner after taking 35% of the designer vote in this annual survey.

The brand also revealed its 2019 Color of the Year runners-up, which included Inviting Veranda KM4844, Chili Sauce KM5435, and Ambient Glow KMW1. All of these shades will likely be among the influential shades of the upcoming year as well.
