Design Philippines is gearing up to present Kindred: A Design Collective, featuring 13 Filipino designers and manufacturers, at the Fall 2019 season of Maison & Objet in Paris, France.
This September 6-10, 2019, Filipino home decor, accessories, gift items, and lighting will be on display at the prestigious European market international trade fair, which brings together exhibitors and visitors from all around the globe.
Kindred’s theme was curated by Creative Directors Rita Nazareno and Gabby Lichauco, who said the goal is to showcase a variety of cutting-edge Filipino design work.
“Kindred is a design collective of like-minded designers and manufacturers,” Nazareno said in a press statement. “This year, we wanted to focus on objects and contemporary design with a specialist, simple, smaller, straight-forward approach to both the booth and the design. The breadth of specialties, materials, aesthetics we are working toward is quite exciting.”
Lichauco added: “Kindred highlights the craftsmanship of each of the Filipino designers and manufacturers, but in a refreshing and innovative approach.”
The collective’s 13 brands include Vito Selma, Schema, E. Murio, Finali, Nature’s Legacy, CSM Philippines, CDO Handmade, JB Woodcraft, South Sea Veneer, Halo Halo, Tali Handmade, Weave Manila, and Zacarias 1925.
