Portuguese decorative lighting design brand Serip presented a stunning showcase titled “The Sense of Seasons: Four Seasons, Five Senses,” during the Winter 2020 season of Maison & Objet in Paris, France.
At the global design market, Serip released its latest bespoke collection, Voa, which the brand says is “inspired by Portuguese soul and a dramatic game of shadows and light.”
“In several different sizes and shapes, this handmade swallows in glass can fill any room with their majestic dances… they exist alone, with light or without, applied on wall or ceiling,” the brand shared in a press release. “If you don’t want to make a composition by yourself, you can choose one of the standard models.”
The best way to display the delicate and powerful pieces was through an interactive exhibit that Maison audiences could walk through and be entranced by.
With this presentation, “the brand invites its lovers to travel between the senses and the seasons, seeking the depth of the artist’s feeling as his insight, because it all starts with a seed, the design, the nature and also our existence,” Serip said in a statement.
The showcase is “a journey that explores the dormant season, until the season of renascence, so that each visitor is invited to travel slowly with the flow that embraces the blowing wind and guides nature until it thrives again,” the brand shared.
“Serip will evoke the senses of all beings to be part of this magical path of singular beauty and simplicity, hearing the wind that blows and touches the soul, seeing how the fury of a whirlwind can play with the autumn leaves and create a freezing dance when nature just ceases growth paves the season with golden tones,” Serip added. “Impressing with the harmony between strength and fragility, among glass droplets, leaves and metal branches that feed the imagination while watching the freezing embody the branches and turn into icy sculptures.”
