Who wouldn’t love to relax and unwind at the end of the day in a soothing, art-filled bedroom? New York City-based interior designer Hilary Matt of Hilary Matt Interiors created a beautiful bedroom design titled “Undefined Lines” for the 2019 Holiday House NYC charity show.
“Undefined Lines is a bedroom inspired by curvature and linear thoughts brought to life by reflection,” Matt shared in her show notes. “This design scheme is primarily black and white with pops of soft, gentle colors to illuminate the space.”
The historical home got a complete renovation for this season’s show house, and this bedroom in particular is a wholly transformed space, complete with marble finishes and purple detailing.
“The aesthetic is influenced by curvatures, squiggles, zig zags, and grids to ultimately create an undefined reflective space,” the designer added. “It was a real labor of love,” she told House Tipster Industry of the process.
“One of my favorite pieces in the room is this art installation above the bed, which is by an artist named Bradley Sabin from New Orleans,” Matt said. “They’re ceramic flowers, each individually installed. They’re beautiful, with a little bit of purple in them.”
To outfit the artistic bedroom, Matt worked with several luxury vendors, artists, and sponsors to find a mix of custom pieces and delightful finds.
The list of creators includes Benjamin Moore Paints, Mercer Built, Shade Store, Schumacher, Art and Loom, Kostas Upholstery, Porcelanosa, Current Collection Lighting, S. Harris Fabrics, New Day Woodwork, Property Furniture, Suite NY, Elitis, Prestige Wallcovering, Circa Lighting, Heather Jozak Studios, HG Stones, Robert Wayne, Gavlak Gallery, Voltz Clarke Gallery, Misha Carpet, Current Home, Boo Saville, Fernando Mastrangelo Studio, Chestman Art, Davidson Contemporary, Robyn Blair, Fine Linens, Trueing Studio, Weezie Towels, Jenna Krypell, and Assouline.
The show, which is now celebrating its 12th annual event, is a fundraising benefit for the Breast Cancer Research Fund. Through December 15, guests will be able to see the room in person at the historical building address, 125 East 65th Street in Manhattan.
