Color trend authority Pantone has just unveiled its new PANTONEVIEW Colour Planner for the Spring/Summer 2021 season.
The seasonal guide is a high-quality hardcover and metal-bound trend forecasting book titled Botanica: A beautiful world full of inspiration.
This comprehensive, color-centric guide “offers seasonal inspiration, key color directives, suggested color harmonies plus material and product application across men’s, women’s, active, color cosmetics, interior, industrial and multi-media design 24 months ahead,” according to the brand.
Featuring eight core color palettes and two transitional color palettes (bridges back to Autumn/Winter 2020/21 and ahead to Autumn/Winter 2021/22), the binder is composed of 69 top seasonal trend colors. Overwhelmingly, the visually-inspiring color book reflects a turn towards nature, with vibrant greenery and ocean-inspired hues reigning supreme.
“After all the drama of color in recent seasons, for Spring/Summer 2021 we step forward into a season of quieter, more natural colors that hint at the influence of raw dyestuffs and recycling. Just as the natural world has bursts and blooms of brilliant and stunning hues, some sparks of bright color do appear as well as an array of dry and woodland greens, mushroom hues and sparkly blues across the spectrum,” Pantone explained on its website.
“In line with this new feeling for color comes an equally important respect for texture and variation, because just as in nature, there are no flat colors; luminosity, texture and tonality say it all,” the brand added.
This planner – and each of its recommended trend palettes – has applications across fashion, home, and interiors. The guide comes with detachable color cards and swatches that can all be used to help “develop, transform, and personalize” your own work’s seasonal color stories.
The PANTONEVIEW Colour Planner for Spring/Summer 2021 is now available for $845 on the company’s website.
