Mitchell Hill Opening Charleston Design Center for 10th Anniversary

Charleston, South Carolina-based design house Mitchell Hill is celebrating ten years in business by opening up the city’s first design center in the famous Chase Furniture location this fall.

The company, founded by the design team of Michael Mitchell and Tyler Hill, was first established in 2010 to create lighting and furniture that’s fashionable and functional. This new center– a two-level, 12,000-sq. foot space “for both design connoisseurs and to-the-trade industry professionals” – is intended to reflect the design brand’s “twisted traditional” sense of style, according to a brand press release.

“We’ve seen Charleston grow into a design hub, and with the influx of interior designers, furniture makers, and design aficionados, we saw a hole in the market,” Michael Mitchell shared in a release. “The same way many of the designer gravitate towards High Point Market, Atlanta, and New York, we want to be seen as a design resource in your backyard.”

One floor of the design center will be all about showcasing exceptional new products and artists’ creations, while the second level will serve as an inviting event space.

New vendors that will be part of the center include Farrow & Ball, CB2 Paint, Artitalia Flooring, Materials Marketing, Cosentino, and more. These brands join Michell Hill’s existing vendors and featured lines, which include Baker, McGuire, Hickory Chair, Style Library, Highland House, Pearson, Swaim, Chaddock, Precedent, Theodore Alexander, Modern History, Currey & Co. Arteriors, Made Goods, CR Laine, Century, and DXV.

Mitchell Hill will also be presenting a curated selection of contemporary art pieces in this space. The design center will be located at 414 King St, Charleston, SC 29403.
