The Miami Design District has just become a little brighter and even more buzzworthy, thanks to the opening of Swan and Bar Bevy.
Restaurant, nightlife, and hospitality entrepreneur David Grutman teamed up with recording artist Pharrell Williams to open this exciting space, a culinary destination filled with nostalgic design elements.
The two-story restaurant and bar was designed by Ken Fulk (who is jointly based out of San Francisco and New York) and Kobi Karp Architecture. Both the Swan restaurant and Bar Bevy floors mix Art Deco inspiration with classic Miami design staples for an enchanting effect.
Swan is an almost completely pink space, from its large floral arrangements to its patterned subway tile floors. Rose-colored seating arrangements complement a pink marble top bar, and there are delicate swan paintings and sculptures throughout the space. Fashion illustrations by David Downton can be found adorning the walls.
The interior’s candy colors, old-fashioned finishes, and retro features evoke the image of Miami nightlife in the 1920s.
Pharrell said that the room’s airy pink color scheme is meant to honor the female energy.
“The DNA of Swan is feminine,” he said, via the Miami New Times. “You can’t make something good without having that energy. Women are finally having their moment, and I would never have it any other way.”
“There’s no society without women,” he added. “You’re in control, and your beautiful species is waking up to that fact. If we’re going to be cognizant and support women, there’s going to be a feminine note in this place.”
In contrast, Bar Bevy features more blues and reds and Moroccan inspiration in the design mix – with some animal prints and black and white photography to add some extra vintage charm to the space. Dark wood and luxurious velvet seating arrangements make this lounge a place you’d love to relax in on festive special occasions.
The restaurant itself features a fine menu by chef Jean Imbert, the winner of Europe’s third season of Top Chef. For dinner, guests can expect to try delicious plates like Goat Cheese Ravioli, Dry Aged New York Strip Steak, Caviar-Topped Spaghetti, “Standing” Caesar Salad, and more. As for the drinks, visitors can taste specialties like White Chocolate-Topped Mon Cheri, The Kalahari, The Aurelia, and more.
“Since first meeting David [Grutman], I could tell he was the man to know in hospitality,” Chef Imbert said, via Haute Living. “Together with Pharrell, we are creating a culinary adventure.”
Swan and Bar Bevy restaurant and lounge is located at 90 NE 39th Street in Miami, Florida. The space opens for dinner daily at 6PM.
