Jeff Lincoln Creates Futuristic Living Room at Kips Bay NYC 2019

Jeff Lincoln Art + Design presented a “Fantastic Voyage” at the 2019 Kips Bay Decorator Show House in New York City.

The interior design team transformed a historical room in the charity event’s townhouse into a futuristic living room full of captivating fine art pieces.

“With my room, I intend to take viewers on a fantastical voyage through the cutting edge of today’s art and design universe,” Lincoln shared in his show notes. “Historical and vintage references were avoided in favor of a curatorial approach in which art, furniture, lighting and objects find natural affinities, making subtle references that unfold over time.”

In addition to its interior design services, Jeff Lincoln Art + Design also has a contemporary gallery based in Southampton, New York. So it’s no surprise that everywhere you turn within the space, you are greeted by another special element, from nature-inspired sculptures to exceptional modern furniture and the gallery’s curated art pieces.

“The room is anchored by a new design by Paul Robinson for the Rug Company called ‘Lagoon,’ and is composed of wool and a new silk-like material known as Nulox,” the designer shared. “Richard Shemtov of Dune created special new pieces debuting at this year’s Kips Bay Show House. His ‘Moussy’ sofa anchors the bay window, while his ‘Starlight’ Center Table is a modern composition in brass and two- way striated gilt lacquer. A pair of his new ‘Aramis’ Lounge Chairs are covered in a Larsen woven fabric.”

“A luxurious Holly Hunt Great Plains alpaca wool ombre fabric adorns the windows,” the designer continued. “The walls received a custom Venetian plaster finish executed by the Sterling Coats Painting Company that provided a quiet background for a carefully curated collection of contemporary art and collectible design. On a mantle fabricated by Brooklyn furniture masters Chapter & Verse, Yolande Batteau of Brooklyn-based studio Callidus Guild executed an “other-worldy” finish of her own exuberant creation.”

Lincoln worked several pieces from his own branded collection into the space, along with spotlighting the work of artisans around the world.

“Lighting and furniture designs by Jeff Zimmerman and Rogan Gregory from New York’s eminent R & Company are joined by unique creations by LA-based ceramic artist Carmen D’Apollonio, along with new lighting designs by Gaspare Asaro-Italian Moder,” Lincoln shared. “Various tables by modern master Wendell Castle and one commissioned specifically for Kips Bay by the up-and-coming young phenom Caleb Woodard are from Jeff Lincoln Art + Design, Lincoln’s gallery arm in Southampton. Jeff Lincoln Art + Design gallery artist John Pomp also debuts new glass furniture creations from the renowned glass artist.”
