Eve Robinson Debuts Woman’s Sanctuary at Kips Bay NYC 2019

The design team at Eve Robinson Associates created a relaxing “woman’s sanctuary” at the 2019 Kips Bay Decorator Show House in the firm’s local New York City.

The historical Upper East Side townhouse’s third floor bedroom was given a feminine and calming makeover just in time for the charity-supporting event.

Pink and gold tones define the airy, light, and open space, which blends a sleek home office with a sophisticated seating area and cozy conversation nook. Appropriately, the beautiful hideaway has been named “A Room of One’s Own.”

“Interiors need to reflect the people who inhabit them. They become rich, interesting, and dynamic when one’s personality is shared and celebrated,” the designer shared in her show notes. “Calling our space ‘A Room of One’s Own’ pays homage to Virginia Woolf’s renowned feminist text and also expresses our design philosophy. We present a woman’s sanctuary that is soothing, sophisticated and peaceful.”

“Entering into the room, you gain a sense of her. The soft color palette of creams and blushes exudes her femininity, while the gentle curves of the furnishings evoke her sensuality,” Robinson added.

“As she is multi-faceted, so too is the room. The space supports her as she juggles the responsibilities of work, family, and home; a desk for productivity, a seating area to entertain friends, and a place by the fire for reflection. Our room is filled with ethereal strength, form and function. It embodies the lives and achievements of our everyday heroes – women.”

We love the contemporary furniture, metallic accents, and playful use of color that make this room upscale for a host of luxurious Manhattan clients, yet don’t sacrifice any of the details that keeps the space inviting and warm.
