AIA Celebrates 50 Years of MasterSpec at A’19

Since 1969, MasterSpec has been a go-to product for architects and professionals working within the architecture, engineering, and construction industry. During A’19, this year’s AIA Conference on Architecture event in Las Vegas, the product celebrated its 50-year anniversary.

American Institute of Architects EVP and Chief Executive Officer Robert Ivy said that MasterSpec, a software resource used to produce custom and precise specifications for building, exemplifies AIA’s overall mission.

“AIA has been integral to the practice of architecture since its founding in 1857,” Ivy said in a statement. “For the past five decades, MasterSpec has been a prime example of how AIA helps architects protect the health, safety and welfare of the public in their everyday practice.”

In collaboration with Deltek+Avitru’s AEC knowledge experts, AIA provides comprehensive architect product selection support for the entire construction documentation process with MasterSpec.

“Deltek is excited about the opportunity to work with AIA to support and innovate on an industry-leading tool,” Kevin Plexico, SVP of Information Solutions at Deltek, said in a press statement. “MasterSpec fits into our mission of providing AEC professionals the best project-based tools and provides a unique opportunity for architects to not only improve their construction documentation but collaborate on a deliverable and assist in risk mitigation.”

MasterSpec has core library options for architectural, building A/E, electrical and communication, structural, landscape, mechanical, historic preservation, water and wastewater projects, and many more.
