Justin Scott Brings 70s Flair to the Brooklyn Heights Designer Showhouse 2019

New York City-based residential interior design firm Justin Scott Interiors presented a warm and inviting living room at the Brooklyn Heights Association’s Fall 2019 Brooklyn Heights Designer Showhouse on Pineapple Street.

Designer Justin Scott is all about catering his designs to the specific clients and room, to directly reflect the people that live in and use the space. For this fundraising showhouse, on display through November 3, the 1820s wood-frame property and its rich history were the jumping-off point in terms of inspiration.

The idea of history is everywhere throughout the captivating living room: there are nods to nature, color palettes referencing the over-the-top 1970s, and sleek updates for modern living. The caramel-toned fabrics, accessories, and wall paints are balanced with vibrant displays of greenery from lush indoor plants.

The retro-meets-contemporary spirit of the room can be credited to fabulous pieces used throughout, like standout Schumacher floral linen wall covering, striking Karl Springer lamps, and an architectural Achizoom Associati sofa that serves as a focal point. Additionally, Scott worked with other great companies and luxury vendors like Pace Prints, Maison Gerard, Foley & Cox, J&P Custom Upholstery, and more.

The result is an inviting and tranquil living space that both fosters conversation among guests and lends itself to being an at-home escape from the noise.
