TCNA Members Donate Custom Dog Houses at Coverings 2021

At this year’s Coverings, members of the Tile Council of North America (TCNA) donated handcrafted tile doghouses to local charity the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando.

Five different companies created and donated dog houses. These companies include American Wonder Porcelain, Anthology, Casa Ceramica, Crossville, Inc., and Del Conca USA. The forms were manufactured by Wedi Corp, as well as contributed by Wedi Corp and TCNA.

“We are grateful to our members for creating these gorgeous works of art, which demonstrate another creative way tile can be used to beautify a space,” said TCNA Marketing Director, Kathy Meyer.

American Wonder Porcelain’s dog house was presidential, with a theme of “Canine in Chief.” The doghouse features Polar Style Porcelain tile, White PS01 24” x 24” polished field tile on the body, as well as 2” by 4” brick joint mosaic on the roof. The tile was installed by Paul Magyar, and styled by Kaylee Ledford.

Anthology went the luxury route for their 2021 tile doghouse.

Anthology focused on creating a luxurious environment for our favorite canines in their 2021 doghouse for Coverings. Recycled glass, which was ink-jet printed to resemble Carrara marble, was used for the pawprints, roof, and front. The house’s back features classic royal gem mosaic from Anthology.

Casa Ceramica’s doghouse uses hand-painted tiles from their Mediterranean collection.

Casa Ceramica’s doghouse utilized a team of in-house designers, using hand-painted tile from the brand’s Mediterranean Collection. The 4” by 4” Moorish-style tiles decorate the sides of the house, while the roof is in handmade subway tiles. The front fascia is also decorated with handmade 2” by 2” Mediterranean tile inserts, as well as custom fleur-de-lys.

Crossville’s dog house mixes a beautiful color palette of reds and blues.
Crossville’s doghouse uses colorful Cursive mosaic tiles, in the colors Oxblood, Soft Teal, Iris, and Goldenrod. The pattern was created using the brand’s Cursive Pattern Visualizer, a digital design tool available on the brand’s website.

Del Conca’s new collection “Nature Collection” is on full display as a luxurious doghouse.

Del Conca USA utilized the doghouse as a way to display marble from its new Nature collection. The house is constructed out of Calacatta Gold,  with a roof finished with Dolomite marble.

The Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando received the doghouses at a donation ceremony at the conference. The organization, which was founded in 1937 as the Orlando Humane Society, provides compassionate services for pets across Central Florida. More information can be found on the organization’s website.
