Portland’s Pearl District Home to New Hay Showroom

After experiencing tremendous growth on the international stage, Danish furniture manufacturer, Hay, opened the doors to its first-ever North American retail space in the heart of Portland, Oregon’s trendy Pearl District.

The white and black exterior of Hay Portland’s 3,400 square foot space is clean, bright, and features the region’s characteristic industrial aesthetic. Inside, the highly contrasted atmosphere combines classic Scandinavian designed housewares and decor with modern, sleek furniture and rugged exposed brick walls.

This juxtaposition creates a beautiful, truly memorable retail experience.

Although the space is open and airy, visitors will notice miniature home illustrations separated by subtle partitions created from Hay’s New Order shelving system– an exciting, collaborative line with famed designer Stefan Diez.

The opening of Hay Portland corresponds with the brand’s new North American eCommerce site, as well as an increase in local industry-centric programming for fellow designers and other professionals.

“We share Portland’s affinity for craftsmanship and creativity, and we welcome customers to Hay Portland to explore our designs in this new environment. Just as excited as we are to introduce Portland and the broader American consumer to Hay’s offering, we’re equally excited to connect with and learn from this new audience,” said owner Rolf Hay.
