Each month, Ace Hardware‘s Paint Studio reveals its Color of the Month pick for the upcoming 30 days ahead.

For May 2020, the shade being featured by the brand is Benjamin Moore‘s Golden Straw 2152-50.

Ace Hardware’s Paint Studio described this versatile and relaxing yellow-toned shade as “a cross between honey and cream.”

“This rich golden hue lights up the room with a soft glow,” The Paint Studio shared on its website.

“This mood-lifting yellow is a great transitional color as we head into warm, sunny days. It illuminates the space, yet is not too overpowering,” Ace Hardware shared about the month’s lively selection.

What’s the best way to maximize the brightening potential of this sunny yellow in an indoor space?

“Yellow amplifies light, making the space look brighter,” the brand explained.

“Pair Golden Straw 2152-50 with a clean white or a soft neutral to maximize this effect. Keep in mind, even a small dose of yellow can make a great impact. Whether it’s on the back of the bookshelf or a pop of a yellow flower, place yellow accents in a place where you want it to be seen.”

While this pretty hue can be used nearly everywhere, the brand has specifically recommended Golden Straw as a complementary color to gray, white, and other spring-ready blue shades like Gettysburg Gray HC-107, White Heron OC-57, and Buxton Blue HC-149.
