Los Angeles-based interior designer Kevin Isbell of Kevin Isbell Interiors transformed a space guest suite into the ultimate author’s getaway for the 2020 Palm Beach Kips Bay Decorator Show House charity event.
The colorful office and connected bathroom, titled together as “A Writer’s Retreat,” was designed for the dream world traveler client who needs a cozy space to create in back home. Of course, that means it’s filled with global inspiration and magnificent artworks inspired by tropical getaways.
“The space is anchored by an oversized pagoda-shaped daybed set against a floating wall lacquered in deep eggplant,” said a Kips Bay press release. “Bright colors, eye-catching details, and a ceramic tiger from Eleish Van Breems Home fill the retreat, while the hand-painted tropical scene wrapping the walls nods to the home’s South Florida location.”
“Around the corner lies a new closet system by The Container Store which holds books and accessories, as well as the guest bath which received a masculine refresh with Silestone by Cosentino in Eternal Noir, Kohler plumbing fixtures, and a vanity surround, shower curtain, and tailored pleat drapery by The Shade Store,” the show added.
Isbell brought this South Florida room to life with a variety of colorful artworks, accessories, and furniture pieces, provided for the charity show by top vendors like Schumacher, Gracie Studio, New Moon Rugs, Eleish Van Breems, Serena & Lily, Cynthia Byrnes, Ceylon et Cie, Carlisle & Co., and many more.
The Kips Bay Decorator Show House Palm Beach, now on display at 260 Palmetto Lane, will be open through March 1, 2020. Tickets are available on the event’s website in advance, or at the door. All of the proceeds earned from ticket sales will go to fund the work of the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club and Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County.
