Rosie Li Showcases “Bubbly” Collection at Maison & Objet Fall 2019

Product and lighting designer Rosie Li‘s latest collection, “Bubbly,” was on beautiful display during this Fall 2019 season of Maison & Objet in Paris, France. Li was also one of the up-and-coming creators honored at this show season’s Rising Talent Awards.

House Tipster Industry partner and Maison & Objet Global Trend Ambassador Patti Carpenter was able to speak with the designer to hear about her latest decorative pieces, which were created in collaboration with glassblowers.

“As the series name implies, ‘Bubbly’ is sort of an effervescent lighting system,” Li shared about her warm metallic lighting structures, which give off a nearly rainbow finish. “It’s a modular system comprised of these different brass spheres.”

“With each iteration, I try to play up the sculptural quality,” she added. “I always think about these pieces as growing, and [consider] how they would grow. The lights are always positioned up and outwards to give that sense of growth and movement.”

In her work, Li plays with different textures and materials for a mix of organic and graphic results. We can’t wait to see where her designs continue to take her!
