Southampton-based interior designer Elsa Soyars of Elsa Soyars Interiors LLC presented an stylish dining room titled “Parisian Salon” at the Holiday House NYC 2019 show. With this colorful and artistic space, visitors are instantly transported to modern-day France via New York.
“This dining room captures not only a functional living space, but also it shows a fashion element brought through fabric, luxurious textures and color – this is how I see Paris. It’s pure fashion,” Soyars shared in her show notes.
“I was very inspired by this light fixture… which is a sculpture by a Romanian artist, Andreea Braescu,” Soyars told House Tipster Industry. “I also wanted to embrace a lot of details in the room that remind me of Paris, like the plaster in the ceiling – and of course, the Mona Lisa, which is an epic piece done by artist Allison Eden.”
To enhance the lively spirit of the room, Soyars mixed patterns of Christian Lacroix tableware with beautiful colored glassware, fragrant fresh flowers, and whimsical holiday-themed winter tablescapes.
To create her dining room space, Soyars worked with a variety of luxury vendors and artists, including Dedar Fabrics, Benjamin Moore Paints, Craig Fabrics Inc., Lorin Marsh, Julian Chichester, Currey Company, Anaktae, Bernardau, KHL Artgroup, Roberta Schilling, Deco Craft, Stark Carpet, Vista Alegre, and Donghia Fabrics.
The show, which is now celebrating its 12th annual event, is a fundraising benefit for the Breast Cancer Research Fund. Soyars was incredibly inspired by show house founder Iris Dankner’s mission to see some themes of breast cancer in a more positive light.
Through December 15, guests will be able to see the room in person at the historical building address, 125 East 65th Street in Manhattan.
