Zoya Bograd Presents Children’s Nursery at Holiday House NYC 2019

What are the adventurous tales you remember most from your childhood? Designer Zoya Bograd of New York-based Rooms by Zoya B. brought several popular childhood stories to life for her whimsical nursery room at the Holiday House NYC 2019 show.

Bograd has been influenced by many magical stories over the years, which have informed themed room designs like her Peter’s room from Peter Pan, Ariel’s room from The Little Mermaid, and more. This show house season, Bograd’s nursery is titled “Harry & Indy’s Room,” and is intended for two little boys.

“When I saw this rug, and hearts its backstory, my mind just jumped immediately from the beautiful constellations to treasure maps, treasure hunting, an of course to Indiana Jones,” Bograd shared in her show notes about her standout focal point.

Above the plexiglass crib, a quote from Winnie the Pooh‘s Christopher Robin reads: “You must always remember… you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.”

“I love using quotations in children’s rooms,” Bograd told House Tipster Industry. “In addition, I introduced Winnie the Pooh toys that were handmade in Russia just for my showroom, Rooms by Zoya. We also have three little pigs, because I love stories in children’s rooms and always combine different stories trying to educate the child as much as I can.”

Of course, no nursery – especially a book-themed one! – is complete without a cozy reading corner.

To decorate her whimsical space, the designer used bedding, rugs, furniture, and toys from her own Bograd Kids collection, plus a bookcase and dresser from her Zoya B. range. Additionally, Bograd worked with vendors like The Shade Store, Plexi-Craft, Circa Lighting, and Calger Lighting to complete the room.

Through December 15, guests will be able to see the whimsical space in person at 125 East 65th Street in Manhattan. The show, now celebrating its 12th annual event in Manhattan, is a special benefit for the Breast Cancer Research Fund.
