Ally Coulter Brings “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” To Holiday House NYC 2019

Greenwich, Connecticut-based interior designer Ally Coulter was inspired by Breakfast at Tiffany’s for her opulent salon at the Holiday House NYC 2019 show. The show, now celebrating its 12th annual event in Manhattan, is a special benefit for the Breast Cancer Research Fund.

Coulter’s room is officially titled “Breakfast at Tiffany’s: The Party Scene,” and perfectly captures the luxurious vibe of the 1961 film. Dressed up in her most glamorous Audrey Hepburn ensemble, the designer showed us some of the salon’s standout details.

“I had so much fun creating this space, and working with incredible designers all over the country,” Coulter told House Tipster Industry. “One of my favorites is Italian Luxury Design, who did these wonderful sofas and chairs that are so curvaceous and sexy.”

“I illuminated this space with a wonderful glistening chandelier from David Duncan, who did all the beautiful handmade gold leaf sconces, and I color-blocked the ceiling to bring in a little bit of Tiffany & Co., since the whole movie is based on that,” Coulter added.

To bring her enchanting space to life, Coulter worked with many more top vendors and brands, including Benjamin Moore, ILD, Otto Neumann Antique Art Gallery, Patrick De Mott, Dedar, Emerson Mareca Painters, Gallery 71, Hollis Taggart Art Gallery, Hurnik Construction, Janet Yonaty, Joe Shea Wallcovering Installation, Maya Romanoff Handmade Wallcoverings, Staley-Wise Art Gallery, Stark Carpet, Studio Van Der Akker, Walker Zanger, Wekecy Workroom Wood Shop, among others.

Beautiful silks are seen throughout the carpets, curtains, pillows, and more accessories. Of course, Tiffany jewelry and accessories – plus their iconic and instantly-recognizable blue boxes – were displayed throughout the space.

Additionally, the space displays a “girl’s fantasy” closet full of Jimmy Choo handbags and shoes from the designer’s latest spring collection.

“They’re to die for, glistening and pretty, and they just reminded me of something Audrey would wear in the movie,” Coulter explained.
