Color of the Year

Beauti-Tone Names Honey I’m Home Color of the Year 2020

Canadian paint brand Beauti-Tone has chosen its trending Color of the Year 2020: Honey I’m Home SC193-3.

The depth-adding warm golden shade was selected by stylist Simon Chang and his team at Beauti-Tone a division of Hardware Stores Ltd. Honey I’m Home (Tout miele) is part of the larger 24-shade Simon Chang 2019/20 Trend Color Collection, which takes inspiration from high-fashion runways.

“This warm, golden hue reflects the resurgence of camel in fashion and home,” Chang said in a press statement. “This is a color that will create beauty anywhere in your home—walls, furniture, floors and accents.”

Bev Bell, creative director of Beauti-Tone paint and home products, added that this color points to a larger cultural attitude shift within the country.

“Canadians are craving calm,” said Bell. “When we walk through out front door, we want to leave stress and trouble outside. ‘Honey I’m Home’ is a sweet color that we can simply melt into.”

Honey I’m Home and all other Beauti-Tone paint colors are available exclusively at Home Hardware and retail locations across Canada. Keep an eye out for this influential hue in fashion, interiors, and beyond in 2020!

  1. Wondering what other colours you would put with your “colour or the year “ honey Iam home paint colour. My couch is that colour and looking to paint my walls. Also have medium Maple cabinets in same room. Any suggestions??

  2. Hi Lana! This is Lisa from the House Tipster Industry Team.Thank you so much for your comment.

For your room redesign, we’d suggest going with an earth tone inspired room since your sofa color is similar to “Honey I’m Home” you are already working with a neutral color.

We would suggest that you pull in some blue, green or yellow tones to layer into your space. These tones will compliment your sofa and also your maple cabinets. Consider the following colors as a pallet to work with. You can add these colors to the wall, to accent pillows, to drapery and an area rug. Home Body is a lovely light sage green inspired by the green foliage you would see for Spring trees blossoming, Bay Water is a beautiful crisp blue inspired by a Summer sky, and Pound Cake brings in a lovely yellow hue which could be compared to rays of sunshine.

When you design a room with colors inspired by nature, you will always end up with a room that feels calm and organic. Hope this helps!
