Bjorn Bjornsson Shows Master Bedroom at the Holiday House NYC 2019

If you had to design a room based on a truly memorable vacation, which would you choose? Interior designer Bjorn Bjornsson of New York-based firm Bjorn Bjornsson Interior Design was inspired by a charming holiday in Europe for his latest bedroom design, “A French Affair,” unveiled at this year’s Holiday House NYC event.

“Inspired by a holiday in Montpellier, France, the concept of the Master Bedroom is eclectic modern with a French twist,” Bjornsson shared in his show notes. “In creating the ‘old and new’ design, I took an artistic approach in selecting furnishings and textures that though stylistically diverse, collectively produce an elegant, unique, and personal design.”

A seasoned Holiday House veteran, Bjornsson knows the show home is all about bringing the joy of holidays and getaways to the bustling city of Manhattan. In this space, he incorporated these ideas in through a distinctly different color scheme.

“I was staying in the south of France for about three weeks, and this beautiful house I stayed in had a lot of silver colors, and I loved that accent,” Bjornsson said. “I normally design a lot of homes in the Dominican Republic and Miami, and I also use yellow there. I’ve never really used it here in New York, so I just wanted to introduce it and say, ‘here it is!'”

To complete the beautiful show house interior, Bjornsson worked with a variety of luxury vendors, sponsors, and brands, including Benjamin Moore Paints, Hastens, Christopher Guy, John Lyle, Arteriors, Left Bank Art, Lexington Home Brands, Peykar Rugs, MarkLux Inc., and Finished in Fabric.
